There was such a grey area there, I would get " talk to your GI " from the OB and " talk to your OB " from the GI. So I asked each about the issue from the perspective of how it would affect the area they specialized in, made myself as aware as I could, and made my own decision. Ask all of your pancreas doc's how the BCP's could be affecting you, add in your own observation of your own body, and ask your OB/GYN about your options in your case. What would happen if you stopped the BCP's without other treatment, what other treatment options are there besides BCP's, and possibly if it would come to that are you willing to go through hysterectomy either partial or total? The best thing you can do in any situation is learn as much as you can, get the best advice from doc's as you can, and make your own decision. Hope this helps I know it seems kind of rambling. But I have gotten to the point that I am very near a partial hysterectomy (ovaries only) not because of any gynelogical probs, just to improve my pancreatitis.
