Guest guest
and Liane, I was told by one of my doctors that birth control pills can cause cases of pancreatitis. They had to rule this out before they pursued looking for a pancreas divisum. They took me off my pills for a while, but I still had cases of pancreatitis, so they eventually found that I do have pancreas divisum. I wasn't off the pill for very long, so I don't know how much the birth control pills affected my attacks. I was on the lowest dose of birth control pills they had at the time ( I was in college at the time). I don't know for sure if they had any direct affects on my cases of pancreatitis, but I am no longer taking any birth control pills at this time. Just know that it is a risk that can happen.
