Guest guest
Patty, You must be encouraged by getting so much accomplished in this visit to Cassie's GI. It sounds as though her PCP was really keeping him out of the loop, and he wasn't happy about that. That's good that you were able to discuss all these problems with him and have him make the necessary and appropriate corrections for her pain and her general health care. Whoopee! I hope that whenever she has any troubles that things will go much smoother for her. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SE & SW Regional Representative PAI, Intl. Guest guest
Patty, (Blushing} now....thank you for the kind words and the four hugs! You know, Patty, I think we are so often challenged and have to face negative events in our trials with this disease that I do try to focus on something positive and reinforcing to coment on out of each post that I answer. Often it's difficult to even do this, or find the right words, because so many times a person's situation seems almost hopeless. Yet my faith leads me to believe otherwise. You should recognize that what you did, by speaking with Cassie's GI and making him aware of all these problems that you've had with her other doctor was such a positive action for Cassie. You are her mother, and her strongest advocate, of course, and I have such admiration for your daily determination to make her life better and more pain-free, especially in light of your own medical health. Every time you write about this other doctor and how they wouldn't treat Cassie's complaints appropriately, won't do this, won't do that, etc., because she's a child, I ache with frustration for you and Cassie. So I really am happy that another doctor is going to be in control of her health, one that seems to understand her needs and is going to make sure that she is treated correctly. I got off track here, I guess, thinking about your situation. Keep it going for Cassie, but remember, Patty, to look out for yourself, too. You're very important to everyone in this picture. Guest guest
Patty, I'm so glad you've got your GI is being so helpful to Cassie, especially with the willingness to cover Cassie's pain. I know that has been a major problem with your family doctor. Even if she isn't currently needing pain meds, at least you now know that when she does need it, she'll get it. Thanks for letting us all know as I know I, and many others have been concerned for Cassie the same as you have been. Give Cassie a hug from me. (and you get one too!).
