Guest guest
I'm new to this. I haven't been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis but I'm having attacks of acute pancreatitis about every two weeks. I'm following a low fat diet, I'm not drinking any alcohol (and haven't been for over 6 months), I'm no longer taking estrogen, but I'm still experiencing constant episodes of acute pancreatitis. My first attack was 9 months ago, two weeks after having my gall bladder removed. I'm seeing a GI doctor that I really like but she doesn't know what else to do with me. We've done tons of blood work- ups and an MRCP, which was normal, and my former doctor did stool samples, which were normal, lots of ultrasounds, which showed a fatty liver, and a colonoscopy, which showed some signs of colitis. My current doctor says we've done all the tests and she doesn't know what else to do right now. I've got Vicodin PRN for attacks, which I take hesitantly because I am currently in recovery for alcoholism. I feel hopeless and helpless and I don't know what to do. I'm only 25 years old. Please offer any advice or hope that you may have. Thank you.
