Guest guest
We also take my son.....it's outdoors I just try to persuade him to stay by me and try to figure out who the people are that have CF. I'm sure the other families do the same if they go.... from PA
Guest guest
, The year that was diagnosed, we did not participate - I just couldn't do it. This will mark our 4th year - and yes, has attended all with me. I live in Louisville, KY and our walk is held at the Louisville Zoo. Guest guest
hi, If she is in good health and doesn't have B.Cepacia they say it's ok to have them there. I just keep my daughter (4 w/cf) away from other groups. We have her walk with us or someone else in our group. Don't forget the 3 feet rule. Good luck and happy walking! Guest guest
Here in Colorado Springs, the walk is a really fun event. We have entertainment, food, goodies, prizes, games, etc. so it is very fun for kids. Because it is outdoors, I don't worry about cross-infection. Besides, my son has lots of his school friends there, so he really doesn't hang out with many other CF kids. It is a really special day for the whole family. Guest guest
The walk that we go to also gives out ribbons to the people with CF so they could adhere to the 3 ft. rule! Guest guest
I would let her go, but maybe I am not the best person to ask about this sort of thing. It is outdoors, just use the " three foot rule " when mingling with other pwcf. I have almost always let be around other cwcf even in the hospital. This freaks out some people, but I have always felt the social benefits outweigh the small possiblility of cross contamination. Maybe if Ang was sicker I would feel differently. love, M Question about the Great Strides Walk... > In Memphis we are having our Great Strides walk May 3. Guest guest
This is a terrific idea but what do you do about the people who won't or don't do it? We always have our daughter at the walk. It is a fun day for our whole family. She only walks part of the way and then my hubby picks her up and brings her back to the walk site. We are the chairpeople of our walk. We have a Chinese auction, hot dog roast, goodie bags etc... I wouldn't want her to miss it for the world! It's for her!!! Hugs to all of you! Kathy G. Guest guest
May I ask what a Chinese auction is? I think the ribbon idea is great for the people with cf. I am going to suggest that to our walk people. Tina Mom to Christian 11 yowcf and 19 yowocf
Guest guest
A chinese auction is where items are donated and we raffle them off. Mostly we make up baskets with a theme or gift certificates etc... Some really cool items get to be our door prizes. You have your " guests " purchase tickets to deposit and then you pull numbers.
