Carol,

Once he is released, he may wish to stay on liquids for a while,

to give his pancreas more time to rest. Then he should

reintroduce food very slowly, some people even start with baby

foods, like the fruits and desserts, until his system adjusts. Soft

mushy and bland foods like mashed potatos, applesauce, fat

free pudding, etc. are also good starter foods until he can

comfortably handle more complex meals.

If he does this it may prevent him from a relapse that would send

him right back to the hospital. Also tell him to drink lots and lots

of water, it's very important to keep the pancreas well hydrated,

and water is the best, and easiest for digestion.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi
