Guest guest
A humidifer is definately not a good idea. A humidifier is a major source of bacteria. Breathing in bacteria can cause big problems in the lungs of people with CF. This is definately not recommended. We got rid of all of ours once we found this out. - mom to the butterfly girls Emma 2 1/2 years w/cf and reflux and Isabelle 4 1/2 years old wo/cf ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Guest guest
why not get a hot steamy shower going and have your child stand in there for 10 minutes or so? Keep the bathroom door closed and leave the overhead fan off. Amber Nick's mom
Guest guest
We were told humidifiers were a definite NO. You might try boiling water on the stove and leaving the pot of hot, steamy water for a short while (where it can't be tipped over of course) in your daughter's room . It can add humidity that is unlikely to have bacteria or moulds in it. Keep in mind however, that any of the bacteria that is in the air already can more easily travel and grow in moist air. I think it can be helpful for congestion in the short term but wouldn't try to add humidity on a regular basis. M
Guest guest
Depending on how old she is, you can tilt her bed so that her head is at the top. I also use Benadryl to help dry my son out. And maybe one of those chest medicated Vapor rubs. I know I like those! > My daughter is very congested today. She is having difficulty > sleeping due to waking up coughing. Is it okay to use a humidifier? > Would it help? > Thank you, > Sharon
