We are waiting for approval for the MedPulse vest for for PT (like the ABI vest but a different company) This week is supposed to be when we hear from the insurance if it is approved or not. So, Yesterday I was thinking that I should call. I was told that it is still pending . That is all the info they gave me. Today I call since I am getting really antsy and am anxious to get the vest. Anyway, the rep doesn't know anything and calls the Department of Medical Equipment. The DME sez they are waiting for info from the doc's office. that they made a request on the 19th and that they called and left a message for Janet At the doc's office yesterday and haven't gotten any info yet. Today is the deadline if they don't get the info it will be denied. I call the doc's and there is no one there by that name but maybe they left a message with . NOPE knows nothing about it. as I'm speaking to I'm wondering if they actually called the vest company and spoke to Janet there. (they have a Janet) I call the insurance back and ask who the heck they called . there is no Janet at the doc's. the rep sez well the note here sez that they called the Primary care doc. The Primary? Why? the prescribing doc is the specialist, not the Ped. So they go back and call the DME and speak to the person who made the call and she sez 'No I called the Company not any doc's office. I am still waiting for the info " So, I call the company. Janet has a family emergency but (thank God) Caroline knows all about this. They got a message yesterday (first they heard of any of this, didn't receive any request on the 19th) morning saying that they needed to send some info in. They got it together and the 13 page fax went through at 1;30 pm (central), 2:30 our time. The insu. should have it. Caroline was kind enough to call the insu. The person who made the request (she's the one who said she didn't have the info yet, an hour before) speaks to Caroline and sez, (are you ready for this?) Oh yes she got that info yesterday. Why on earth did they tell me that they didn't have it? Why have I spent all afternoon ignoring my child's request to go out and play to stay on the phone with all these people? Because the insurance company's DME is staffed with absolute IDIOTS! Welcome to Insurance Company Hell! , One frustrated Mommy of , 4 with CF.
