My daughter from the time she was born up until 5 years ago ,

only had stomache symptoms of the disease and we felt lucky . Since

that time she was diagnoised with Diabeties in 2000 and liver disease

in 2001 and ABPA yast year . she also had a g-tube and central port

put in last year. In the last 14 months she has been hospitalized 7

times , for a average of two weeks at a time, all for her lungs even

when she comes home on I.V. ,it seems she gets sick again as soon as

the medicine stops . She is usualy on Tobi and Fortaz in I.V , my

main concern is she is 13 and has not gone through her change yet and

our Dr. says this is the worse time for girls with C.F. Any advice

would be appreciated . I am so glad I can finaly talk about my

daughters condition . Bless you all. Pat dad of two Dakota 15

For adolescents of both sexes maturation is usually later than pwocf. There are

a few factors at work with adolescence being the worst time for kids with CF.

Lots of teens just don't want to comply with therapy or taking their meds. Also

they are growing a lot then and everything is changing. Nutrition is very

important at this time too.
