Three years ago almost to the day, I had a ventral hernia repair

with my surgeon whom you are aware. He placed mesh, very common.

Well I was either allergic or rejected it but I developed a 10cm

seroma that every week for 3 months I would go to his clinic; furing

my working hours, and he would aspirate it with a 60cc, 14 gauge

syringe. Excruciating to say the least. He also, at clinic, during

my working hours place a few jp drains to decrease the seroma

fluid. They all failed. Six months after the hernia repair and my

begging; temps were 102, still at work. He removed the infected

mesh. This left a great deal of scar tissue which was extremely

painful. About a year later the scar tissue had become so hard and

painful it had to be removed. We talked about removing my gall

bladder, I had the 4F's; and there were some small stones and sludge

on US. It did not have to be removed and I was extremely hesitant.

Remember how I used to recover ercp pts. Well I asked my surgeon;

whom you are aware of, " isn't there a correlation between lap

chole's and pancreatitis? " Point blank to his face in the hall

outside the surgical waiting area and he looked me straight into my

eyes and said " absolutely not; there is no correlation what so

ever " . He lied. It was not long after the chole did I start to

have more pain and more problems... and the rest well is history as

they say. That is another reason why I was hesitant to see him

again for the sphincteroplasty. This is an odd bit of info. He

started to the sphintero's not long after I started having pains and

I asked him if it could be SOD and he had me see some GI guy to test

me for IBS, sprue, etc etc. But in all honesty, when Hawes found

the ductal tortuosity, this would have happened eventually; I would

have had more RUQ pain, and they would assume chole. But I was

thinking back, I have always had RUQ and back pain since I was a

child. So it really would have been just a matter of time. God

does have his ways of getting our attention anyway.

Wow sorry for writing such a book; I dont think I have ever told the

whole ugly story.

How are you feeling? Hope you are well, the weather finally feels

cool and I have put on a big pot of bean soup.

Warmly with love
