Guest guest
A sphincteroplasty is when the surgeon open your intestine at the duodenum and SO unite. The sphincter is then surgically attached to the inner lumen of the duodenum; scar tissue is removed the sphincter is made larger as it is pulled through the intestinal wall and sutured to it. Muscle from the lumen of the intestine is made to replace the wall of the sphincter. A stent is placed and will remain in place until removed 6 weeks later with an EGD. I hope this helps and I am sorry but I missed your question earlier; I am still on a lot of pain meds. Warmly
