Guest guest
Good day, friends! My latest (16th, I think) CT-scan answers some questions, yet leaves other's unanswered. This scan was done in yet another hospital, so it's interesting to compare this against the drafts from hospital 1 and hospital 2, as to it's interpretation of my pancreas. So far, this review, done by a female radiologist, (you go GIRL!!!!) is the most thorough and medically precise of all the rest. I think I'd like to have this hospital do any of my future tests, even though it is an older facility and longer and more difficult to get to than any of the others! It's right across the street from my GI, so that's a plus, but I wouldn't want to be hospitalized there, due to its age, and difficult access for family who would be visiting. The enlarged pseudocysts are now 5 x 6.5 x 5.5 cm. in the tail and 3 x 2 x 2.5 cm. in the head. Previously, they were 3.4 x 4.4 cm and 3.2 x 2.3 cm. My pancreas is " enlarged with severe scattered dystrophic calficications throughout and an enlarged pancreatic duct, with MULTIPLE pseudocysts seen throughout. There is no fatty induration or free intraperitoneal fluid to suggest actute pancreatitis. There is prompt and symmetrical uptake and excreation of contrast from the kidneys bilaterally. " There was more to the report, including mention of the non-enhancing peripelvic 2 x 2 cm. cyst on the right kidney, which we're aware of and is apparently both common and nothing to be concerned about. What baffled me was the remark that there was no indication of acute pancreatitis (?), it just indicated that the findings were representative of changes seen with chronic pancreatitis with associated pseudocysts. So I guess I'd interpret that as a acute chronic pancreatitis attack, instead of an acute pancreatitis attack....whatever that means! Why this attack has been more severe and harder to recover from is still a mystery for me. Overall, I still feel cruddy and am having a hard time recovering my normal activity. It's been three weeks and I'm still struggling. I had a great day Thursday, and probably overdid it, getting some serious cleaning done in my bedroom where I've been spending so much time. With a tv and the computer in here, plus a good bed to recline in, I've really taken over the room as my personal oasis. But that made it the most necessary place to keep clean, right? But doing so seems to have been my downfall, since I've been back to feeling rotten, in pain, and reluctant to get up and out. That's my progress report for now. I'm trying to chill out and get back my strength for Thanksgiving. Maybe by then I'll be able to make my formal announcement of my daughter's engagement and pending marriage!! Our photo is in the " photos " section on the website, and I think you'll see why I think she's going to make a beautiful bride! With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
I,m sorry you are not feeling well. It may sounds sttrange but I always feel worse when the barometric pressure falls. Could just be that dreary days bug me though. This was the first time you had this radiologist at this institution. Each physician has different ways of wording their reports. You already knew you had gone past AP a long time ago as did I. The cyst have gotten a smidge larger, that could be causing some more pain, sit down put your feet up, read the paper, and if you lived closer I would send you some of this soup. When do you see your gi guy? > Good day, friends! > > My latest (16th, I think) CT-scan answers some questions, yet leaves other's > unanswered.
