Rajeev,

To answer your first question:

> I'm confused whether acute pancreatitis recurres after having

removed the gall-bladder. I had severe acute pancreatitis of gall

bladder which is now removed.<<

Sometimes, with some patients, there is complete recovery and

that person never has another acute attack again. With the

offending organ, the gallbladder that caused the initial attack

removed, the person resumes a normal life. Others find that it

wasn't the gallbladder that caused their acute attack, but

problems within the pancreas, and those people are at risk for

future pancreatic problems and attacks when and if the organ

becomes inflamed again.

> Doctors advised me that there's no probablity for me to get

pancreatitis again as i've already had my gall bladder remove.

But still i'd like to know some information about this.

> I've also lost about 50% of my damaged pancreas. Will it get to

100% again.... does the damaged tissue of pancreas rebirth

again and function?<<

Sadly, the answer to this is NO. The pancreas is not an organ

that can repair itself and function at 100% ever again. Once the

damage is done, it's done for good. That's why it's necessary for

the patient to take care of whatever is left well, by adopting a

stress free environment created by a strict low fat diet and no

alcohol consumption. Pancreatic enzyme supplements are also

a necessary part of treatment, as they aid the remaining part of

the pancreas in its struggle to do it's normal work of producing

enzymes to digest food.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi
