Guest guest
, If your doctor wants you to see a national level expert he may not be aware that there are two such centers with excellent doctors much closer to you than Florida. One is the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. They have a division just for hepatobiliary diseases and they have the Pancreatic Disease Center. Their website for this is: http://ucpancreas.org/ and they have some pages intended for physicians that may be thinking of referring their patients to the center. I had suffered with unexplained acute attacks for two years until I found a GI who know about the Pancreatic Disease Center. I was able to get an appointment without wait and got excellent care. This is where I had my total pancreatectomy and islet cell autotransplant surgery performed. The other center is in Indiana. They have a website for their ERCP procedures at: http://medicine.iupui.edu/ercp/default.asp and I have been told by my physicians here in Cincinnati that Dr. Lehman in particular is reknown for his skill at endoscopy. Just wanted to let you know of some other options closer to home for you. be well, Bert
