Guest guest
Hi everyone, It has now been 2 1/2 months since I had my last sphincterotomy and 6 weeks since the stent was removed. I have had very minor pain just on occasions since and that is caused by what I have been drinking. Any drinks colder than room temperature and carbonated drinks cause major spasms for me, but I found out today that that is probably my esophaegus constricting which they don't know the reason for yet. My GI today told me that he doesn't think he will need to scope me anymore (ERCP), and sure hopes he doesn't have to. He will have to do just an upper Endoscopy yearly but that is for caution of polyps I have growing in my GI tract. Never causes me a problem after i wake up. So from the look of things, they have cured my pancreatic duct of the stricture causing all my problems. There is a chance of more tumours growing in my pancreatic duct, but as the first one was very rare, we are hoping it won't happen again. It seems funny that after going through this for 5 years, then when I actually get referred to a pain specialist and after fighting insurance to get my pain meds approved..I don't need them anymore *L* I now am beginning to believe that I was put through all of this so the doctors could find what they did find when they finally decided to perform a Whipple. They cut me open and found a bunch of tumours in my abdomen. Couldn't do the Whipple, so closed me back up and referred me to an oncologist. Now it looks like I can concentrate all my energy on getting rid of these tumours..and spending QUALITY time at home with my family. Everything I have read has been so helpful to me since finding this site. I will still be reading and posting if necessary, as every bit of information can be vital to the next person. Thanks everyone for all the support I have felt from this group.
Guest guest
Hi , I am so happy that you are no longer having pain from your obstructed duct and that the GI guy thinks you will be " ERCP-free " now! This is so encouraging to me personally, although my happiness is tempered by knowing that you are fighting another awful disease. I hope that you are just as successful with getting rid of the tumors in your abdomen. Thank you for sharing your story with us - I know it must have been hard to take the time to keep us informed. Good Luck! and I wish you continued success with your treatment! Laurie
