Guest guest Posted October 27, 2003 Report Share Posted October 27, 2003 Hey Lily: Whats this preparation for a PICC line? Tell me, tell me! I have no veins left. They say I cannot have another PICC or port or Broviac since I have had 18 of them and everything is shot. The brachiocephalics are totally occluded and I have had a stricture of the vena cava etc. etc. Never had any veins to begin with (very very small and crooked) and CP has finished it off. Is there anything at all that can " heal " a vein even the ones that are occluded? Vitamins, anything? Blood flow to the upper extremities is extremely compromised and there are days I am miserable from it Got any light to shed on the subject? The docs sure don't. They just say we will worry about it when we have to. Well, being the personality I am, I want a plan thank you! I let no one stick me anymore unless it is an IV specialist or a really really good phlebotomist and even at that it is horrible. At least the IV specialists put in lidocaine! Just wondering.
