Guest guest
, I am going for a 2 month holiday to Australia in May, it may be a long long time before I can ever get back there to visit with my family, and only my parents have met my daughter. They can't meet my hubby as he has to work. It is such an ordeal to travel anymore. Before all I had to do was book my flights and pack my suitcase. Now I have to calculate the approximate dates I'd have a stent placed and removed up until May next year, make sure my preexisting illnesses are covered on my travel insurance, and recheck that before I go, organise for my mum's GI to do anything necessary if I have an attack whilst there, and have my mother's doctor's practice agree to check my blood thinning levels and flush my port when I need it whilst i'm there. Organize letters from my doctors detailing that the narcotics I have on me are for medical purposes...(don't want to end up in jail *LOL*) My mother doesn't want me travelling the long part of the journey on my own in case I have an attack and can't look after my little girl, so have to coordinate her flight from australia to LA so she is on the same flight as me back to Australia, and then again when I'm due to come home.. Anything shorter than 2 months and it won't be worth going after having done all of this. My father wonder's why i'm bothering to go back if I have to do all of this and I told him I'm not going to let this illness beat me and rule my life..it has done enough of that so far..
