Guest guest
Hi all, Our interview was aired on this passed Monday. Unfortunately they did not put anything on their website about it. It went well I think. She spoke with me for about 45 minutes. They only used a short blurb from me about the first days when was diagnosed and the surgery and not knowing what the future held. I guess it was good for the drama portion, I did start to tear up a little. All the emotions still come flooding back whenever I actually voice the story, no matter how hard I try to suppress it. They also showed all of his meds and explained that they were just the ones he takes when he's healthy and there are many more that he may have to take as he gets older or (God forbid) he gets sick. They showed me doing chest pt on a therapy ball and explained that he kicks and screams during it and how it breaks my heart to have to do it. I told her how on one hand I feel like I'm abusing my child and how I'm afraid the neighbors will call the cops on me but on the other hand it's something I have to do in order for him to live. They also showed many adorable pictures of , being the little ham that he is, and also aired the snapshots I have of him at 3 days with a severely distended stomach and at 6 days post-surgery and in the bathtub with his ostomy bag. The reporter was speaking through most of the segment and she was giving the statistics of CF and other tid-bits on our story. At the end they showed the walk information. The director of our CF chapter saw it and wants to air it in the Syracuse area to help promote their walk. Hope you're all enjoying your day. Stay well, Michele mom to Mikailah 5 1/2 w/asthma & Matt 11 months w/CF
