Guest guest
Hi ka, Thank you for your message (I hope I am the right Shelley!!lol). I'm sorry you have to deal with this horrible illness. Here is my SHORT story (I'm in quite a bit of pain today so will have to make it short). I have had recurrent urine infections all my life (I am 23 now), but looking back now, I always had the pain in the upper abdomen radiating to the back! In 2000 I was taken into hospital with really bad pain, told it was another UTI and sent home. Kept getting this horrid pain and eventually told I had Fatty Liver with sludge in my gallbladder. Was taken into hospital about 5 more times when they thought I had abdominal sepsis which was causing the mass infection. Had emergency surgery to remove it. Still didn't help with the pain. Eventually after having AP 2 or 3 times they took my g/b out. At the time the surgeon said it was probably due to SOD, and he didn't know if taking my g/b out would help with the pancreatitis. I have had pain ever since and in Dec last year had another ERCP with sphincterotomy. Had AP, couldn't breath on my own and a psuedocyst. Which brings us to today! The hospital wont try anything else as my amylase/lipase are ok, and because of what happened after the last ERCP! I will be seeing another DR in the UK (I live in the UK by the way) who is meant to be very good, so hopefully he will be able to help me. I have had sever pain the last week, which is worse when I breath in. My lungs haven't been the same since Dec and my lips keep turning blue! Well that is my story, if I have missed anything I will let you know. Hope you are OK today and as pain free as possible. Lots of Hugs Shelley P.S My great uncle also suffered with abdominal pain all his life and had some kind of biliary disease and have heard that hereditry panc doesn't have to come from a parent!
