Subject: Please make a phone call for us

We recently learned that due to proposed tax cuts, a program that we are

benefitting from tremendously is undergoing some major cuts. BCMH (The

Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps) helps to supplement the cost of

CF patient's medical bills as well as the cost of prescriptions. They help

to cover the costs that insurance companies do not cover. (Co-pays for

doctors visits and prescription co-pays) That may not seem like a lot, but

it can cover well over $200 a month in JUST prescriptions for your child

when he/she is HEALTHY.

At this time, there are only proposed cuts out there, so we are trying to

lobby to minimize the effects for children benefitting all over the state.

If you are interested in helping out, you can do so by just making a simple

phone call.

The phone number is .

Just call and either leave a voice mail message or speak to an operator if

the message box is full.

Here's what to say:

" I would like to leave an opinion for the Line Item for BCMH for individuals

over 21. This item should NOT be changed. "

Here's what it means:

They are completely doing away with benefits for patients over the age of

21. For CF patients this is especially detrimental because it is at this

age that patients need the most comprehensive care. In addition,

individuals may have " maxed-out " their insurance coverage (most have a limit

of a million dollars or less lifetime coverage) or cannot get coverage at

all due to their illness. Doesn't seem fair, does it?

The assembly is meeting over the weekend, so it is critical that if you can

make this call that you do so today or ASAP!
