Guest guest
I would prefer, given a choice, to have a mild pneumonia any day over having an intestinal impaction. The darned things just plain sneak up on you, or maybe up you, or down you. Do NOT ask me why I did not follow the advice I so readily give others and call my cf gastroenterolo gist! I just did not get it until I was about ready to explode. I had noticed that I had stopped eating and was gaining weight--very odd. I guess it was a little different last time it happened. Let me tell you, the stuff we get here, in the usofa, called Golytely is a joke and an agony--but not worse than what things were like before they began to deal with the impaction (details not available on request). So now, I am having a cocktail of Golytely mixed with Gatorade (for taste and chlorides) every so often and I think that all is well. I am to have an abdominal ex-ray tomorrow to make sure that it is all " gone. " Boy, cf is really something that keeps one busy! So now I am still not eating and have lost weight; I will not put a thing in there until that X-Ray is over. One would really think, that at my age, I might have gotten the hang of all this--apparently not! Well, thank you for all the neat posts! The horrible truth is that I ac tually do get sick just like other cf patients. This stalls my sinus surgery, though! Hard to get upset about that one! I really do appreciate everyone on this list; the posts I got privately from several lists were rather amusing, expecially the comments on well, " poop! " and cf. Thank you everyone! Love to everyone at cfparents and do not forget your gastroenterologist! n Rojas

Guest guest
n, I have not been doing a good job of keeping up with the mesages for the past several months. I am sorry to hear that you were having problems. I hope that you are better now and can stay that way.
