Guest guest
Hi, my 8 year old son had a distal pancreatectomy due to trauma from a bicycle accident last month. Three days ago I took him to the ER due to excrutiating pain in his right abdomin and back. Xray's, CT scans, blood & urine tests were all normal. Three days in the hospital and surgeons, gi specialist and pediatritian can't pinpoint cause of pain. We were sent home with enzyme therapy & diet restrictions. Is it possible to have pancreatitis with a normal CT scan & amylase levels? What about pain relief (at home) for children? It took many doses and 4 hours before relief with morphine in the ER. Regarding meds and food, what should we avoid? Any help would be wonderful! Thank you! Christy
