Guest guest
Hi, saw this on another list and since some of you have trouble getting insurance coverage this might be an option: Starbucks offers health insurance to employees who work as little as 20 hours a week. So if you're facing insurance issues and can't work full time -- but can manage working at least 20 hours a week -- you might check into Starbucks. This would be an ideal situation for a parent who needs health insurance -- 20 hours a week at Starbucks while kids are in school. (And you get a great coffee discount!) Guest guest
Tsk, tsk, Torsten. Are you stealing my posts? ) (Keep fingers crossed that gets the job. Then I won't have to pay expensive COBRA on him, and he would have a second part time job to help pay off student loans, and I would get free yummy mocha frappucinos this summer!) Guest guest
Pat, I have excellent insurance through my husband's employer. We're thankful every day for that, because my hospital, doctor and pharmacy bills have cost many, many thousands of dollars. Just a three day stay in the hospital cost us over $25,000, I've had to have 12 CT-scans at $5,000 apiece, MRI's, MRCP's of unknown cost, and my monthly pharmacy costs are over $1,200 each month. I just don't know what we would do without insurance. Prior to getting this CP, and then diabetes as a result, I doubt if our yearly medical costs were more than a couple hundred dollars. Now I've heard of many CP patients who have been bankrupted over this disease. I am very sorry that your son has neither a job, nor health insurance. You may wish to check for information on indigent medical and pharmacy help on Mark Armstrong's Pancreatitis library website at: http://www.top5plus5.com/ He'll need to find some help somewhere, and this may be a good place to start.
