Guest guest
Hi Liane, Glad that you didn't think that I was being too light hearted about your questions and concerns. Happy too that I was able to give you something to think about. I think that your last statement about the video - lap giving you a better idea of what is going on is a good position to take for now. You are right to be concerned about early menopause and all of its immediate and long term effects. But again, if that is what the best coarse of action turns out to be, then remember that there are ways of dealing with the effects of the hormone changes. My only other advice would be if there is a problem that surgery will help, and if there is a chance that the longer you wait, the more complicated surgery and recovery will be, then consider doing the surgery as soon as possible. I have had three personal incidences where I was hoping that the minor problem would go away and in two of these cases, it ended up becoming life threatening with a long, painful recovery time. So there is some wisdom in recommending doing a procedure even if the circumstances seem relatively minor at the time. However, decision making becomes easier once the problem evolves into an emergency - but then you end up dealing with complications that could have been avoided. So it is a toss up as far as mental ease of decision making versus physical ease of treatment / recovery. It is extremely hard to balance these two when it comes time to making choices, I have found. Good luck and let us know what happens if you don't mind sharing. Laurie
