Guest guest
Hi , Just a quick response to your question, I had a friend who sneezed hard once and actually broke a rib. Ended up having to have it taped and recovery took about six weeks. best wishes, poncho - GA
Guest guest
Good Day All, Hope everyone is having relatively painfree day!! Here is one of my silly questions that I like to bother everyone with. This morning driving to work I sneezed....big sneeze...and Kaabaamm! HORRIBLE pain in the neck and right across top of shoulders and back....pain upon movement radiating to what feels like chest bones.....wait....here comes the humdinger question.....Does this sound like I " strained the panc. " and is causing refered pain to this area......or.. like an attack......anyone ever experience this type of pain. Regularly I do have discomfort on the left side of shoulder and neck...but this pain is way more intense! Thank you all for putting up with my silly questions now and again. Warmest wishes B. Guest guest
Poncho, My mother was in labour with me when she sneezed and that sneeze broke 3 of her ribs. She had to continue through 13 more hours of labour with the pain of those ribs, not being able to breathe deeply because of that and give birth to me...maybe the pancreatitis I suffer from now is my punishment? *Laugh*.. Guest guest
: Sounds like you may have either broken a rib or at least pulled the cartilage loose. I had the flu one time and coughed so bad that I pulled every bit of cartilage loose from the rib cage. When it happened it sounded like somebody unsnapping a shirt real fast. I would at least get it x-rayed. If it is something in that area like what I have described it usually takes quite a while for it to heal completely! Take care and let us know. Guest guest
Well, I don't have panc (my son does), just allergies and have had that pain from sneezing. Although I can't sneeze right cause with allergies you just loose everything so I like almost explode my head. I can't really explain it but the guys at work always give me a hard time. They think it is a blond thing. You were probably just holding you head wrong when you sneezed. Put some kind of icy/hot stuff on and roll your neck around. At least that is my opinion.
