Guest guest
Hi, I am very frustrated because I can't get one of the meds that usually takes. It was supposed to be ready on Friday (I ordered it on Wednesday) but when I went to get it today it is still not going through in the computer. This always happens with this med and no one knows why. (pulmozyme) My question is this have any of you using medical assistance had to get a case manager or member advocate involved in your child's case to get meds? this is what the member services rep recommended but I can't do anything until Monday. I was also told to call the RX dept Monday(again). I hate dealing with the insurance companies but I will do whatever I have to to get my kid's meds! Guest guest
Yes, when Nick was under an HMO, I did have to get a rep. from the insurance company assigned to me that would help expedite everything. By the way, where are you attempting to have the meds filled? It might be beneficial for you to look into the CF foundation's pharmacy (CF Services), or grandma Bev's pharmacy (Cf pharmacy Inc.). I have had no problems with the CF Services pharmacy, they get Nick's meds out to me right away, and work the insurance afterward. They really believe in getting the kids meds to them ASAP, and also they hassle with your insurance for you so you can focus on caring for your child. i'm sure Grandma Bev's pharmacy has the same motto. Guest guest
Hi, I have gotten in touch with a rep from the insurance company to get help with this med and hopefully any other problems that come up. I am using my local pharmacy, a Walgreens, and they have done well for us. I did use the CFF pharmacy for a while for her tobi but I then her insurance (at the time) didn't want her to use that pharmacy but a different one that delivered the Pulmozyme and Tobi and another one for her enzymes but they wanted me to get her other stuff Albuterol, Zantac... at the local one. Then we switched insurance for her to Medical Assistance mainly because We could use one pharmacy for everything and didn't have to call 3 different pharmacies for her meds. I am waiting for the rep to call back and I am hoping that we can get this organized today! Thanks for the replies.
