Guest guest Posted March 28, 2003 Report Share Posted March 28, 2003 Children can have retractions if they have asthma.If they are having bronchial irritations(allergies even excercise) RSV which is a terrible cold for babies can even cause problems for older kids after it is over the retractions can stay for a while.Some kids have lighter upper chest breathing which can look like retractions but it has to do with how they breathe.I have forgotten your post does he have asthma?
