Once the pancreas has been damamged it will NOT repair it's

self.Removal the pancreas either partially or completely does not

always work, I saw a surgeon in May who told me that 50% of the

people have NO resolution of the symptoms and they can be worse. For

me those numbers are not adequate enough to go thru such an INVOLVED

surgery, I am a former nurse and my husband is a surigal nurse.

Removal of the pancreas is a BIG DEAL. With pancreatitis the damage

is done long before we become symptomatic. I hate to be the bearer

of bad news but I feel honesty is necessary. Even with successful

surgery unless an islet cell transfer is done one would immediately

become diabetic, which in it's self is a whole different ballgame

and in it's self can cause one many many problems.
