Guest guest
Becky: I read your message, and I was interested because they also say that I have a stricture in my pancreatic duct which they found during the last ERCP. My duct first was clogged with sludge like stuff, and then this time clogged with scar tissue. They put in a stent for two weeks, but in fact I feel like the pain is worse than before they did this last ERCP. I called the doctor who did the procedure and he has advised me to speak to a surgeon (at his recommendation) about having surgery. My appointment is on Thursday. Needless to say I am quite anxious to see what type of surgery he will suggest, if any. When I asked Dr. Kalloo, he indicated they would be more likely to the puestow than the Whipple. I'm not even sure what to ask the surgeon. Except of course, can you fix me so I don't have to take massive amounts of narcotics on a daily basis! And I know they can't give any guarantees, but I'm hoping he can at least give me a good indication if there is a 50/50 chance it will work (probably won't do it) or 75-80 chance it will work (probably will do it). Any other people that have been in this position...any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm doing pretty good TODAY and hope everyone else is too!
