Guest guest
Jeanette, My application for disability lists the following impairments; brittle insulin dependent diabetes with hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis, malnutrition (malabsorption), chronic calicific pancreatitis with pseudocysts, osteopenia and hypothryoidism. Documentation and lab reports of all these impairments has been provided and I have met all the criteria that qualifies for each impairment. My gastroenterologist already submitted a letter that was included with my initial application claiming that my disabilities meet the statutes for each, with full explaination of how this criteria was tested, met and substantiated. He also said that these were lifelong conditions with no hope of improvement and that he found me unable and unsuitable for employment. We did use the guidelines from the pages discussing each qualifier in the Social Security book. I also included a six page attachment where I personally explained the history of my problems, how this had affected my livelihood and the lives of my family. It's because of the thoroughness of this initial application that I really don't understand how why it needs to take so long to get an answer. Our county SS office is uncooperative in the fact that if you call there, all you recieve is a tape recorded message. It gives you the office hours, and then prompts that if you know the extension for your " party " , to dial it. Since I don't know who's working on my case, or their extension, that's no help. The woman who called me was not from that office. I can try to locate the state director, but the evalulator that called me wasn't from our county office or the state office, I can tell this by the telephone number she left when I was out. If I can get this information, I guess I'll have to start the regular phone calls. Thanks for your help. I'll let everyone know how it goes as soon as I hear something.
