Medtronics intrathecal pain pump

Just got back from the PM doc today and this was mentioned as

something that I might think about trying. Does anyone here have

any experince with this? I was wondering about everything, the good

as well as the bad. Is it true that this is like a major surgery

and will have to be out of work for several weeks? How long does it

take to start working? When you have a continous trial, is that

where they see how much med to use to see if it works? I would

really appreciate any detailed thoughts or opinions about this as an

options. For those of you who have it,is it worth it? What about

side effects etc..... what happens if the pump runs out on a Friday

night and your doc is not on call? Does this completely get rid of

all the pain or will i still need break thru meds. I have so many

more questions....any help would be very much appreciated
