Guest guest
Beth, Maybe off the subject a little but I noticed your concern about the tylenol in the percocet that Barry is taking. My GI guy was reluctant to prescribe percocet for me when I had indications of liver disease so he just perscribed the oxycodone part alone (which is percocet without the tylenol). The ones I get are in capsule form and are 5mg strong but I know they come in higher doses. There is some research that shows the oxycodone (as well as other pain killers) works better when combined with aspirin or tylenol but many physicians believe that this benefit is outweighed by the risk of tylenol toxicity or bleeding concerns with aspirin, and that the enhanced pain killing effect is not that significant. If you are concerned about the tylenol ask your doctor about a prescription for straight oxycodone - it comes in various strengths. And this is NOT the same prescription as oxycontin. The drug is the same but the way it is to be used is not. Oxycontin is the time released version of oxycodone. Thought maybe this information may help.
