Good question .... my husband has/had the same problem --- the smell

of something rotten inside of him passed out through gas.

Most of Barry's pancreas is dead tissue and yet he was told to stop

the enzymes ... the gas condition has improved - whether this is

coincidental or a result of stopping the enzymes ???

You bring to mind another issue ... since part of your pancreas has

stopped working, does it matter what part still works to carry on

normal functions? The head of Barry's pancreas is viable ... does

the head carry on most functions (insulin and digestion) or does it

not really matter what part of the gland works or doesn't work ---

whether someone with a viable pancreatic tail could be 'normal' also?

Just a curiosity.

Hello ,

Many years ago, before my dx of pancreatitis due CF, I was prone to do that.

I was seeing a doctor from my health ensurance, done various test, and no

definitive dx.

In one appt he said to me that there was not to do to me and it's good to

see a " good " GI specilaist, look he was a GI doctor. He talked about his

father, but he was not part of my health ensurance, so I must pay him.

I saw his father, a lot of visits and no one dx again. He said that I was

thin enough to be a model. I gave up. A lot of money for nothing.

Finally I gone to see my old homeopatic doctor that asked for a sweat test,

that came back positive, after that I done a simple blood test, called

amylase, that came back two time higher than the normal range. So my dx was

done. Easy.

Well, I became furious, why that GI doctor said to me that I done all the

tests to dx my problem?

One time this nasty doctor said to my husband that I was having mental

problems, probably anorexia.

By now I forget all those bad days, I only remember when I read posts like

yours. So sad.

If you're prone for this, do it.

I only done a gross call to him, poor soul.
