An acute attack can be fatal and that is why those of us with this disease do anything we can not to have attacks. In the sense I think you are talking about like certain types of cancer or other diseases it does not have an " expected life span. " We just live with a chronic condition. The problem comes when there are complications. Please dont' think of CP as being a " fatal disease " ! While it is a devastating disease one fraught with pain, many of us are able to be managed quite well and leave relatively normal lives. Many don't have " normal lifes " but still have wonderful and fulfilling lives. Dont' give up.
