Guest guest
Hello everybody, I had the complete physical I mentioned previously and I am very happy to report that my doctor is now taking me seriously. She says she will work with me to manage this chronic condition. (At my last appointment she wasn't convinced it was chronic pancreatitis - only that I had had acute pancreatitis in Nov 2001 and no explanation for the symptoms experienced since...) I'm to take the hydrocodone that I haven't for pain. I always think I'll save it for when the pain gets worse. And she's prescribed a mild tricyclic anti-depressant that is used for chronic pain and is supposed to help me sleep at night, which of course makes everything easier to handle. Is anyone familiar with Nortriptyline? Any comments? I'm scheduled for another CT in 2 weeks. Haven't had one since January, 2002 so I'm eager to see what it shows. We have never been able to determine a cause for the acute pancreatitis that put me in the hospital for 5 days back in 2001. Nothing has shown up on the CT, Hidascan, or MRCP (although I feel strongly the MRCP was done and interpreted by incompetent idiots.) Laurie, I was reading one of your recent posts that perfectly describes the pain - the constant, background pain that I feel as " pressure " in my chest - and all the different types of pain. I'm just so happy that my doctor is helping me now. Had to share that with you all. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you at the Symposium. I'm anxious to hear all about it. Aloha, in Hawaii
