Greetings, All!

I brought the acetaminophen issue up weeks ago because of research on

the internet I did about the pancreas possibly being irritated by

these pain killers - which is proven. I questioned the doctor about

Barry taking Percocet (which contains acetaminophen)and could they

please give him something else.

The answer was Percocet was an easy pain killer - as well as Tylenol

and other similar pain killers. Other more preferable pain killers

would have to be injected - so we stuck with the Percocet.

More times than not, the Percocet probably won't hurt anything

(hopefully). It helps with the joint pain and provides some much

needed sleep - so that's a good thing.

Hi, Mark!

When things were looking pretty bleak, I needed a quick education on

necrotizing pancreatitis. I wanted to do anything I could to

eliminate pain or future damage ... so I questioned the doctors about

the pain killers for Barry.

Below are a few web sites FYI. They state asscociation is " probable "

with pancreatitis (but not stated is the amount of drug they're

referring to). (I am compulsive and wanted Barry to stay away from

anything associated with pancreatitis.)

Thanks for your input and research in this matter, Mark!

Warmly, Beth

  • 2 weeks later...

Percocet contains acetominophen. Percodan contains aspirin...

Perhaps you could ask the doctor to prescribe just the active

ingredient of oxycodone?

My sister experiences migraines with any of the drugs that end in

" -codone " like hydrocodone which is Vicodin. There are others but

I cannot recall them at this time....
