Public oppinion polls can be tricky to believe, but most of them tend to say

that most people are for this and that quite a few think we have waited too

long.

I am sad it has to happen this way, but I support the effort. We cannot leave

loose a mad man who wants to terrorize not only the world, but even his own

people. How crazy is that? I have many family memebers in the military and

most of them are all ready there.

> I am not sure how the rest of the US feels (I believe the opions are pretty

much split) but as for me this is my feeling on the whole thing: My husband is

a soldier in the US Army and I have to deal with the whole idea of war different

than a lot of people. I married him knowing full well that he was a soldier and

that this possiblity was always there. So I feel that if we invade Iraq, or even

just go in and kill Sadam, it has it's positives and it's negatives. If feel

that we should have done away with the butt-head the first time we went in

there, so I like the idea of finally getting rid of him. On the other hand when

was breaks out my husband goes and there is always the chance that something is

going to happen to him, so then I say no. But I suppose it really doesn't

matter what " we " want and feel about it. BUsh is going to do what he feels he

should and who are we to say if that is wrong or right. He knows more about what

Sadam is doing then we do, so I trust he is doing what is right.

I really believe that the public here is pretty much split 50/50 on

the issue of war with Iraq. My biggest gripe is that it is the duty

of Congress to declare war, and no one has asked them to do so.

(With a Republican administration and a Republican majority, it may

just be a formality, but still...)

At this point, my hope is that our soldiers make it home safely.

This is one of those discussions that I think would best not be discussed

in this forum. It is just like the have more kids debate. Some people

can discuss this type of thing rationally and calmly while others will

get very opinionated and possibly even nasty. I don't see any real

benefit in bringing this discuss to this forum. This is one of the few

places that we can go to and focus solely on us and our families. I

would rather not see CFparents as a opinion board for all the hot topics

of the day. I come here to relax and get away from discussion about war

and violence. I am bombarded with it all day at home and I find it very,

very stress producing, so can we please not discuss this type of topic

here.

Suffice it to say, I have found that those individuals who supported Bush

and voted for him in the last election, support him and feel he is doing

the right thing and those who did not support Bush, do not support him

and feel worried over the long term affects to our economy and world

relations.

I was not going to reply, as I am pretty filled with news of the

coming war and very filled with opinions (mine and others) and

totally overflowing with emotions about the situation, but it looks

like the replies you received were kinda one-sided.

I respect the people who have said that it is 50/50 and positive and

negative, but I must say that there are many of us who do NOT see it

as a plus and minus thing. I am totally against the idea of risking

our young soldiers' lives and those of innocent people of Iraq, and

many other people are too. Maybe not on this list, but in the

country. We have had thousands at peace rallies and millions of

signatures on petitions and hundreds in my conservative city alone at

peace vigils.

So, when you are comparing, please add my opinion too!

Thank you.

Views or opinions regarding politics or nationality have no importance or

relevance on a list that is supposed to offer support and info to all

affected by a disease that knows no political or national boundaries. Can't

we all act like grownups and leave our views/opinions off this list?

Hi,

since I am not a US people I better keep my opinion to myself. But

taking a look at http://www.disinfopedia.org/wiki.phtml

could help to understand what's going on.

And if you love a good laugh, then take a look at www.bushorchimp.com

too :-))

This is just to clarify (to those who don't want to see the war

discussed on the list) that someone from Australia (I think) was

asking, trying to learn and understand the feelings of the American

people on what is a huge event effecting the entire world.

If we can't use this list to meet others, learn about their worlds

and politics and feelings...and emotions and what stresses them

out...and learn more views and open our minds, then I don't see what

good it is. We might as well all be on the " CF-ONLY list " (Cystic-L).

We are all human, besides having CF in our lives.

If I am in the wrong or in the minority, I will talk about this

elsewhere. I just think this is a wonderful forum and I, myself, have

never been so lucky as to have the whole world at my keyboard

fingertips.

I think has the right to ask the list and we have the right to

answer. I also think we are all in agreement that there are many

opinions, and respect each other's rights to express them.

Unashamed to be praying for peace,

I agree with . Its a " HOT " topic always and sometimes gets ugly......

Remember the game...you played it with a ball and said I declare war on the

name of........threw it and ran...I keep thinking of that game. I loved that

game.

Rosemary from New York with 3 children with CF -

they are 12.5, 10, 6......

I coined the phrase " BREATHE DAMMIT " ; we have a dog we named -are you ready

for this - TOBI after their medication!!! At least it wasn't albuterol or

Coly...

Some of us don't live in the US and don't think about Bush at

all. I like this list as you can discuss things that don't pertain to

Cf, but that are affecting all of us. If there is something I don't

want to read then I just delete it and continue on. That way everybody

is happy.
