Guest guest Posted July 2, 2003 Report Share Posted July 2, 2003 Hi all, Wanted to let everyone know that we have received the maximum number of registrations for this year's Symposium that we can accomodate at the present time. As you know, we are having to pay for the conference room this year, along with renting A/V equipment, pay travel expenses for some of the speakers, etc. With our limited budget, we are only able to afford one of the smaller rooms at the Conference Center, and we have reached that capacity. We will be sending out confirmations to all those who have registered, and also notification to those who will be put on the " waiting list " (I think there are 4 or 5 registrations who will have to be placed on the waiting list at this time). We are working to see if there is any way we can move to a larger venue, but with our limited budget, our options are limited. Karyn's computer is not functioning at the moment, so she asked me to get this announcement out pronto. She will no doubt be posting more about this situation when she is able. Also, please send positive thoughts/healing prayers Karyn's way. She has been experiencing a period of fairly intractable pancreatic pain for over a week now, and can use all the help she can get in coping with! As has been discussed on the board recently, stress can be a major factor in contributing to the exacerbation of the symptoms of this disease, and putting together an event like the Symposium, while extremely rewarding emotionally and spiritually, also has its physically draining and " stressful " aspects. --Tull Assistant Moderator Pancreatitis Association, International Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
