They make and incision in your belly button and another on your abdomen

(tiny) and go in through the belly button with a little camera and look

around. The worst part is the gas they put in you to move all the organs out

of the way. Other than that the whole thing isn't too bad. I have had it

done twice. Now if they find something inside and need to remove or fix it

it is a little different. But all in all it is really not that bad.

Hi ,

Ive had one before because I had an ovarian cyst and it needed to come out.

Mine was done under general anesthesia so I didn't feel a thing. They make

small insisions, one, in your bellybutton and one a little farther down and

to one side or another. They pump in CO2 so they can see whats going on,

then they insert scopes and look and see if anythings wrong, like

endometriosis or cysts etc. At least that is why I had one. What are they

looking for in yours?

Afterward I ended up spending the night in the hospital because my doc

couldn't get all the cyst out through the scope so I had to have an open

insision, she said that rarely happens so of course it happened to me. It

wasn't so bad, I got pain meds over night and was OK in a couple of days.

I hope this helps,

Mine is a cyst as well. I am hoping to stay overnight, just for a good

night's sleep and no physio etc in the morning. Gee some people will do

anything for a rest LoL!

They go in through your belly button and blow you up with gas carbon dioxide

I believe. It doesn't hurt but after you will have gas pains until its

expelled. I had one years ago and just remember feeling groggy - from

anesthia.....spelling bad!

Rosemary from New York with 3 children with CF -

they are 12.5, 10, 6......

I coined the phrase " BREATHE DAMMIT " ; we have a dog we named -are you ready

for this - TOBI after their medication!!! At least it wasn't albuterol or

Coly...

Hey ,

Another big plus for me was they left the foley (urinary) cath in overnight

and I didn't have to get up to PEE!! A real advantage as I am up usually

every 2-3 hours at home. I think that is the only full night's sleep I have

had in I don't know how long!

love,

There sure are a lot of people on her that has had cyst. My mother had this

too it was the size of a grapefruit. I wonder if there is any connection

with CF because my mother is the carrier of CF on my side of the family. I

would be interesting to hear how many have had ovarian cyst. I have not yet

but I have wonder if I do because of some pains I have had in my stomach

area. Deb A

personally--- i dont thin there is a relation between cf and cysts...

Of course i could be wrong.

In my town ( small town) we think there was a link to our drinking water..

over 10 of us in one class had a cyst somewher on our bodies! i have 2 on

either side of my belly button.

AS far as " female " cysts.. i heard they are common and at any given time a

woman could have 10 and not know it . they onyl get to be problems when they

are enlarged..

Remember, this is all my opinion- im no doctor!

Little late in on this topic, but I also have had many, many ovarian

cysts--they are HORRIBLE!! They did a lapo on me many years back, and

decided to just let them go. I haven't had one now for a couple

years--which is really strange as they used to happen every couple

months--worse on the left side.
