My son Chas is 18 mos. I have posted three or four times, but usually I just

read to learn. I am scared because I never know what to do when he shows any

sign of being sick. He went to clinics about two weeks ago and was doing so

great that for the first time in over a year, we can wait 6 weeks before going

back. We have been out of the hospital since early November which is great since

we had been in 9 times from the time he was 3 mos until this last Nov.

We lost insurance coverage for the nursing hours he had at a daycare/nursing

facility and he isn't approved for home health care either. The insurance said

that the care he requires can be given by custodial care. SO........back to why

I am not sure now.

For the past four days his nose has been running and running and running. I

called his CF docs and they said I could get him in on Tuesday clinics if I am

still concerned. The nurse said to try pediasure as a decongestant, but it

hasn't really helped. My 3 yr old daughter(no CF) takes Benadryl(Spelling?) when

she gets stuffy and itchy eyes, but I am not sure with Chas!! He has a periodic

cough, mostly with treatments and cpts, but his poor little nose is just full of

stuff. He has no fever and like I said the cough is small, but now that a nurse

doesn't see him everyday, I don't know what to do!!!!

I know I must seem too unknowledgeable, but I really depended on the nurses he

had everyday, and I am now very scared about not doing enough or being too crazy

about " normal " stuff.

HELP!!!
