Expecting to be looked after

Hi there I'm sorry I don't know your name, but I have a friend who is in

your situation. She has 2 teenagers with cf. The 14yr old daughter

basically takes responsibility for all her meds etc, and takes an active

role when seeing doctors and specialists -with the exception of when she

is very unwell and then she expects mum to take over, this sits well

with her mother.

The 16 yr old son on the other hand takes no responsibility for anything

which does not sit well with her. She has been trying all sorts of ways

to encourage an independant streak, but nothing seems to be working.

She has come to the conclusion that he is the type of person who will

only take responsibility for himself when he leaves home.
