Guest guest
Keri, I saw on your post that you were, or actually, you are an OB/GYN nurse. I was wondering what field you were working in. I am interested in pulling together all the RN / LPN members in the group. I feel that becoming unemployed outside the home does not mean you are no longer a nurse. I have been working on organizing a Pancreatitis Nurses Society. There are many things that this Society could do. One of them is to provide a venue for volunteer work and educational resources. Financial limitations did not permit me from certifying the PAI as a provider of Continuing Education, however, I do have the application packet and plan on doing so next year. At this time, we also could not afford to even certify the Symposium for CEU's. It is a lot more affordable to certify the PAI as a whole vs a single educational event. I want to do this to provide some options to nurses who need CEU's for license renewal. And, actually, some states will allow any educational hours to count towards license renewal with a letter from the organization. So I will be glad to provide a letter to anyone who needs educational hours. We will also be able to offer CEU's to MSW, RD, etc. For anyone not attending the symposium, I am preparing material to allow the videotape to offer educational hours, as well. let me know if you or any other nurse is interested in this pursuit.
