Hi all we are moving to a new house in 2 weeks and it has gas heating thoughout

the house. Is this safe with CF??

Liam has also cultured a light stap infection in his throat, is it anything to

worry about, or will it just go away by itself?? Doct does not want to do

antibiotics at this point.

mum to Liam 6 months old and got us wound around his finger already!! He

has such a attitude!!

We have had gas heating for 4.6 years and never had any problems. We do

leave the window open a tiny bit, but that's because it can get stuffy,

and we like fresh air.

When my son was diagnosed with CF and the doctor was taking extensive

notes, one of the questions he asked was how we heat our home. (We had

electric heat). A couple years later when my kids were going through

allergy testing, their allergy/asthma doctor asked the same question.

Both doctors told us that gas builds up in the home, leaving

particulates on walls, etc. so they prefer electric heat, not gas.

About 2 years ago I read a recently released study showing children

that live in homes with gas stoves and ovens and have asthma, tend to

have more asthma episodes, especially if they're in the kitchen while

cooking.

So because I have asthma, when I moved to a new place 18 months ago, I

specifically looked for a place that had an electric stove/oven and

heated by either electric or radiator, not gas.
