Guest guest
Marisa, I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience in the urgent care clinic. Unfortunately, some doctors just aren't pleasant and don't really believe anything the patient says.I've run into that kind of doctor before too. You might want your doctor to write a letter that states what the ER/Urgent Care doctor should give you when you have uncontrollable pain. I got one, though I haven't had to use it yet, though I got the idea from another person who has chronic pain and it worked for her. Have your doctor write the amount of pain meds you should get and have them sign it and include their medical license # and keep a copy in your chart. You should keep the orignial with you. On mine, it says if they have any questions, they are to call my doctor. Also, have your doctor inform all the doctors who do oncall duty on nights/weekends/holidays that they need to treat your pain if you or the ER calls. Just some ideas that might help in the future. As for your a & l levels being low, I had this my last attack and my doctor said it was because my pancreas was so damaged that it just couldn't produce any significant a & l levels any more. That may have been what happened to you. I hope you have better luck with doctors in the future. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
