Guest guest
Hi , My main reason for not going back to the ER was the time issue. Being a Saturday night, I could have been stuck there for hours! And we all know how miserable it is sitting in the waiting room while you are in pain. Actually, the ER doc had access to very limited information about me. Even though that is the hospital owned by my HMO, my actual chart is in another location. The only thing they can look up on the computer is blood work, CT results. The urgent care is also owned by my HMO, so the yahoo doctor at the urgent care had all the same info. as the sweet (and good looking..LOL) doctor in the ER. Isn't it weird how everyone reacts different to the same meds? They gave me Demerol at the ER, but I think the Torodal worked a lot better for me. Enough about me, how are you feeling these days? Sending lots of happy thoughts your way..... Marisa~San Diego, CA
Guest guest
Hi Marisa, Your stories sound so familiar I can't believe it! I'm glad you were able to convince the nurse & the ER doctor about your a & l level's not being elevated. Everyone I try to explain it to just looks at me like I'm crazy! There are a couple ER docs who do know me from over the years & they do believe me. I'm glad the ER doc wouldn't let you leave until your pain level was some-what under control. About your trip to the urgent care......can I ask why you went there instead of back to the ER where they had your chart handy? I don't think I would never, ever go to an urgent care when I'm having an attack. You stated that your pain was some better....was it from the torodal shot they gave you? That stuff never even did an thing for me whenever they made me try it. I couldn't even tell they gave me anything except for the mark on my butt-cheek. Just wondering how you are doing now. About your blood work being low.....don't know about that, wish I could help, sorry! Hope you are doing alot better now then you were before. You are a brave, brave woman! Last night I started having pain around 10:00, by 2:30 am I couldn't take it anymore. So off to the ER I went. I was sooooo nervous. This was the first time I have been to the ER since my official CP diagnosis in Oct. 2002. Marisa~San Diego, CA
Guest guest
Ah! I see, Marisa! That makes alot of sense what you wrote! I love it when the ER or any doctor is good looking, don't you? It makes it a bit easier to lay there in pain & let them push & pump on the very tender belly. The better good looking, the better the exam! Not really, but its easier on the ole' eyes, thats for sure! That is amazing how well the toradol worked for you, I'm happy for you! Thanks for the happy thoughts, I sure can need them today! My girls are at their dads and when they get home we are heading to the pool, yeah! I'd rather stay in my bed, but I gotta get up & do something! I'm withering away in my own depression! The pool should be fun for them, at least they will only have to spend 15 mins. with me during the rest breaks, and they will get a break from my grumpiness! Thanks again, friend! So, how are you doing now? Still feeling better? I sure do hope so!
