Guest guest
, Yes, the hardest part is over. Its all little things now really. Things that time and the body's own healing will take care of, with the frequent visits to the surgeon so he can just make sure things are going the right way. If you want to know about the program in Cincinnati, they have a website at http://ucpancreas.org/ or you can call the Pancreatic Disease Center at University at 513-584-CURE. The surgeon who treated me is Dr. Syed Ahmad. It depends on the nature of your pancreatitis as to what they will recommend for you but if you have frequent acute attacks, intractable pain, and are not diabetic you are most likely a candidate. I have been blown away with the skill and care I have received. But the program is new at UC; 2 years old. They have done 25 or 26 of these and they have all been considered a success. None the less Dr. Sutherland has been doing these since 1970. It all depends on what feels right to you and your insurance. Good luck to you! Guest guest
Hi Bert, Thanks for all the useful info you sent my way. I will check out that website when I get back from the pool with the girls. They are with their daddy now, and will be back shortly. I'm so glad that you are doing so well! I think I would be blown away by all this too. Keep on with your recovery! It will all be healed in time. Thinking about you, dude! By the way, do you live in Cincy?
