Guest guest
I have just returned from a 4 day stay in the hospital after the pain just got so bad on Friday, I really felt like I had no choice. I advised them that I had been diagnosed with cp about a year ago, and that I had naseau and vomiting for several days, as well as terrible pain. They put me on a morphine self administered pump that I had never used before, but worked great with my pain. They ran the usual batch of tests, mostly they said to " rule out pancreatitis. " So, when the doctor was discharging me, he said he didn't think I had cp, because my lipase/amylase were normal, and the ct scan didn't show any abnormalities. How could an ERCP show I have cp, and now they say I don't have it. It took so long to be diagnosed, and now I feel I'm back to square one. The doctor didn't say for sure that I didn't have cp, but just didn't look like it to him. In fact he could find no physiological reason for my RUQ pain. I have a follow up appointment at 's Hopkins next week, and hope that the doctor there who did the ERCP will have some encouraging words. At this point, not a day goes by that I do not have to take narcotics. I am suffering from depression like I have never experienced. I just hope someone in this group has experienced times like this. Could I have cp even if the tests they ran over the weekend show nothing? How could it show nothing? Anyway, any words of encouragement from anyone would really be appreciated. Also, maybe some stuff I ought to ask when I go to 's Hopkins next week? The one interesting diagnosis was perhaps I was having abdominal migraines. Anyone heard of this? I have had migraines for several years, but I'd never heard of abdominal ones. They also put me on Elavil which should help with the pain. Anyone take this for pain? Thanks for listening.
