Hi Bert,

Just think how wonderful you are going to feel all the time and then you will

now have to worry when an attack is going to hit, when you have something plan

and you now have to cancel your plans when an attack does hit. Just think how

wonderful it will to be able to plan anything without having to worrying if an

attack is going to hit or not. You will be able to go to work and be able to

eat anything you want for lunch without worrying if it will set off an attack or

not. To be able to eat anything you want all the time will certainly make the

surgery worth it. If you worried about becoming a diabetic after the surgery,

they are right when they say you have a very good chance of the Auto Islet

transplant working, because your not chronic and your eyelet Cells are still

working. When you have pancreatitis, especially Chronic, you stand a good

chance of developing diabetes, especially after you have had surgery such as a

Whipple on the pancreas. So you might as well have the surgery now while

everything is working properly and not wait until things are as good for your

recovery as now.

Sure you're scared about the surgery. That's just human nature to be scared. I

was scared when I had my 3 surgery on my pancreas, but I was in so much pain I

knew I had to try something, anything, as I couldn't keep on with the pain.

You have the chance to lead a normal life, so take that chance while your option

and so much in your favor. Good luck and keep us posted on what you going to

do. Who's going to do your surgery?

Take Care,

Louie in WV
