I hope you don't mind if I jump in on this. Eilish cultured PA when she

was 2 or so. She went onto 3 months of Cipro. and Colistin. Then after

this time she had a repeat bronchoscopy, which showed it was still

there. So we repeated the 3 months again. This happen 4-5 times which

totalled 16 months on these meds. That was two half years ago and she

has never cultured it again.. Here they hit it hard and constant. We

were always told you need at least three months. We follow the Danish

treats here, which are aggressive to get rid of it. So it really

doesn't surprise me that 3 weeks isn't killing it. It probably

wouldn't. Go to the Cf Denmark site and read about PA there.

we're still here!

Well our CF clinic visit went o.k. The doctor was on the fence about

admitting Hh to the hospital. She has had a wet productive cough

for 3 weeks..she had just finished Cipro (to try to get rid of PA)

when this started and they tried a short course of levanquin (sp??)

which did not help. He is having us try a 14 day course of Cipro but

said if she did not start getting better soon that he wanted to admit

her at the end of the week. We are hoping that she shows improvement

soon!!!
