Guest guest
This note goes out in acknowledgment of Tony Crispin, RN, UK Chapter Representative. Many people often judge the work of the PAI by the activity of the message board, when that is only but a small section of the work done. There are Chapter Representatives throughout the United States and numerous other countries. I know, because of feedback I receive from persons whose lives are affected by this disease, that they are as affected by the one on one work given so freely by the Representative, as by the disease. I know that for every post Tony sends to the group he writes as many more directly to individuals. I want to acknowledge the compassion that Tony has shared recently with the wife whose husband died today of Pancreatitis. It is a somber reminder of the seriousness of this disease. Acute Pancreatitis particularly carries a high mortality rate. Losing a loved one, losing a spouse is terrible. Thank you for being there and extending your hand of support during these last difficult days for this couple. Thank you for all you do for all the citizens and visitors of the UK. Thank you for your loyal service to the PAI. Blessings, Karyn Karyn E. , RN Exec. Director, PAI Indianapolis, IN The PAI serves as a means of support, information, and advocacy. The PAI cannot offer medical advice or direction nor substitute for your health care provider.

Karyn, Although you wrote this directed to Tony Crispin, I want to take your words and turn them around toward you. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you do, despite working with all the extra baggage pancreatitis makes you carry everywhere you go. I've known you through this group for many years now. You have pulled me through many dark nights when there seemed to be only one loss after another, with no hope visible. You've helped me find the plusses that were buried among so many minuses. You've had so many personal calamities, but have always been able to extend a hand to anyone in need despite your personal problems. You should be sooo proud of this child of yours - The Pancreatitis Association International. This association is a visible monument to your indominable spirit. Thank you again for being who you are, jang
